Page 1 of 3 Keepfitness has selected the true athletes behind sports aerobics and aerobics.
Since sports aerobics started in 1989 there have been a few outstanding individuals among all the athletes.
These athletes rose to the top without the support of any sponsors.
They influenced millions of people around the world and yet they never got the recognition they truly deserve.
They all share common features, being world athletes, multi talented,
Asian, European or World Cup Champions and they all loved the sport.
These athletes are not only nominated by their achievements to competitions, but what they have done to the sport.
MENS
Brett Fairweather (New Zealand)
-First ever IAF World Champion
-First person to create a “theme” to routines
-Brett has set the standards in creativity
-Brett is a two time World Aerobic Champion and eight times New Zealand Aerobic Champion most remembered for his "Spiderman" And "Flintstone" routines.
As creator of JUMP JAM Kidz Aerobix, Brett is committed to making exercise safe, simple, effective and most of all FUN!
Kidz Aerobix has professionally trained thousands of school teachers throughout New Zealand using the JUMP JAM system.
Marcus Irwin (Australia)
-Techno revolution, “cleanest” technical athlete
-Creator of “lateral one arm push-up”
Marcus Irwin has maintained his status as Australia’s most popular fitness personality. His name remains synonymous with health and fitness and is regularly referred to in the media as the Pied Piper of Fitness.
Marcus has presented at over six hundred workshops over the past seventeen years. A wealth of knowledge and experience enabled Marcus to travel extensively on the international fitness convention circuit for twelve years. Attending over forty events annually from Bulgaria to Blackpool, reaching an estimated sixty thousand fitness professionals. This demand necessitated relocation to both London and Switzerland to further explore the global fitness industry. Marcus now based back in Australia hopes to continue his fitness odyssey and spread the fitness word through different mediums and platforms.
With over twenty-five international medals to his credit, Marcus helped to set the standard for aerobic competitions today.

Marcus received the European Shape Up Presenter of the Year Award in both 1999 and 2001 and was voted Australian Presenter of the Year in 2001.
From 2001 - 2003 Marcus won the best international presenter awards at ECA New York fitness convention. In 2002 he also won the best international presenter award at the Toronto Can Fit Pro convention.
Magnus Scheving (Island)
The “Carpenter”
He was born November 11th 1964 in Reykjavík. He started to practice Aerobics in 1985 in Reykjavík.
Magnús became the Icelandic men's Individual champion when he started competing in aerobics in 1992 and has gone on to win 1st place in Iceland four times. In 1993 he was Sardinian champion, taking 3rd place at the Suzuki World Cup and coming in 3rd in the Taejon Expo in Korea. In 1994 he was European champion, placing 2nd at the Suzuki World Cup. That same year he won the international competition in Seoul, Korea. In February 1995 he won the European championship for the second time.
Magnús has not only trained in Aerobics, he has also received over 70 awards for 1500 and 5000 meter track and field races. As a young boy Magnus practiced many sports such as basketball and handball, but tennis was he´s favorite. Magnús was chosen as sportsman of the Year 1994 in Iceland.
Magnús also gives lectures and demonstrations in Aerobics all over the country and gives lectures about good health and sports for children in schools. He has also written a book for children and teenagers.
Cartoon theme in the routines, but also athlete of many talents.
Magnus is also a Founder of Lazy Town Entertainment.
Ken-ichiro Nomura “Keni” (Japan)
Japan's Pioneer Many-times Champion, Now a Sport aerobics World Icon
Ken-ichiro Nomura (third child and first boy) was born on March 16, 1967 in Ohita
Prefecture. Ken-ichiro is a six-time first-place champion of the Suzuki Japan Cup, having won his first gold medal in 1987. He has since won first place as a Mixed Pair with partner Chie Miyoshi (1991) and is a three-time first-place champion, Men’s Individual, of the Suzuki World Cup International Aerobic Championship.
-Keni brought clean gymnastic, sports aerobic, martial arts influent to the sport.
-Keni has competed longer than any other athlete in the highest level.
-Always polite and focused, but major influence to Asian aerobic.
Alexandro Viligiardi (Italy)
Olympic Gymnast, sports Aerobics World Champion, international presenter and Personal trainer.
An extraordinary personal history in gymnastics, Italian national team member from 1985 to 1992, he decided to end up his career in this field with the participation to the Olympic Games of Barcelona in 1992.
Thereafter, soft and natural passage from gymnastic to competitive aerobics allowed him to meet with success in both national and international field such that Alexandro turned into the one and only Italian athlete who won 5 European Championships and 2 World Championships. Experience drawn from a diverse background as an Olympic level gymnast and World Champion aerobic competitor as well as a degree in physical education allows Alex to combine the skills necessary to be a world-class presenter with the innovation to draw from a background that no other presenter has. Alex has long been known as one of the finest instructor to come out of Italy.
He has presented in more than twenty countries in hundreds of events with unchanged enthusiasm and ardent passion. It's thanks to his charisma and to his dynamic strength that he is instinctively able to spread over a high energy in all of his classes, always keeping alive the attention of everyone.
But his fame goes far beyond the European borders; Alexandro is called to teach during many Conventions held in South Africa, Australia, Japan and U.S.A including Hawaii islands.
Jonatan Canada (Spain)
Speed, motion, flexibility, International Trainer, Choreographer and Sports aerobics champion.
New “Spanish” style, made his name famous in mix pairs with Alba Heraldes, then moved to men’s and was the first person to stop Alexando Viligiardi´s long last winning straight.
Jonatan has achieved multiple times the World Champion title in mixed pairs as well as men’s individuals.
Claudio Franzen (Brazil)
Started competing in 1990 Claudio has been World Champion in Teams, Men’s and Mixed Pairs.
Claudio is also great choreographer, coach, instructor, judge and mentor.
-Founder of Franzen Fitness Center
Experience Claudio has travel extensively on the international fitness convention circuit for fifteen years.

Alessandro Paiva (Brazil)
-First two times World Champion. 1992-1993
-Former compete diver.
Alessandro had the longest and cleanest presses and highest jumps at the time.
Roberson Magalhães (Brazil)
-International Trainer, Choreographer and Sports aerobics champion.
Magalhaes is a nine-time world sport aerobic champion based out of Gold's Gym in Virginia.
1993 at the age 22 Roberson got he´s first World Aerobic title. He become the first Brazilian mixed pair World Aerobic Champion. That was the beginning of Robersons remarkable career.
Patrick Nahafahik (Netherlands)
-Patrick Nahafahik is the Dutch Reebok City Jam Master Trainer.
He has traveled the world teaching his profound master classes getting people to be active within the Hip-Hop industry. He has also planted his roots within the sports aerobic competition by gaining the European title four times and being a two-time bronze medalist at the World Championships. He is co-owner and founder of two successful clubs in Holland
